New Album - Red Hot N Rollin'

Minneapolis rockers Smell My Pillow are out with their fourth album, Red Hot N’ Rollin, a rowdy blend of heavy guitars, thumping beat and passion-frayed vocals.

With three albums already in their arsenal, Red Hot N’ Rollin brings the band out of hiatus to reemerge on the world stage like throwing a match into a puddle of jet fuel.

The band calls it Therapy Rock, encouraging audiences to use the album's loud, cathartic songs as a form of therapy—to live in the moment and release an inner rock spirit.

As opening title song "Red Hot N' Rollin" and the profane, punk "FU" suggest, the album is a furious and rock driven ride into the future. Thirteen tracks to remind us that turn-that-sh*t-up rock n' roll is far from dead.

The album also features rock ballads like the loud-quiet-loud "Hollow Man" and "Falling, Falling" that demonstrate Smell My Pillow’s dexterity of melody, chord sequencing and personal, confessional songwriting.

Just before the curtain falls, the Pillow leaves you with a true optimistic heart and soul scent of their closing track, “positive Energy”.

For nearly 15 years, SMP have consistently released singles and albums inspired from hard rock of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s Grunge, drawing on musical influences of Foo Fighters, AC/DC and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The 5-piece group debuted in 2010 with self-released Off Switch and follow-up No Control in 2012. The group returned to the studio with new singer and lyricist Amy Shaw in 2015 with the raucous Strawberry Lipgloss on KWall Records.

Smell My Pillow formed in the suburbs of Minneapolis around lead guitarist Marc “KWall” Kowalski, vocalist Amy “AimWa” Shaw, drummer Troy “Dr Teeth” Berg, bassist Curt “Curtis” Rehbein and backing vocalist Teena “Sweet Teena-Frosting” Berg.

Red Hot N’ Rollin is the band’s most polished production yet, recorded at Pachyderm Recording Studio in Cannon Falls, Minn. in late winter of 2023 and mastered at Rare Form Mastering in Minneapolis.
